10 Week Teen Open Studio with Carly Shooster Starting Saturday September 30

Starting Saturday September 30, 2023 from 11AM to 1PM come explore new worlds, creative fantastic characters and venture into the unknown in our Teen Fall Open Studio with Carly Shooster.

Students will develop new stories and build comics-making skills from ideation to finished product.

When

This course meets weekly Saturday morning starting September 30, 2023 from 11AM to 1PM (Note: there will be a week break Saturday November 25 for Thanksgiving, returning again for the final two weeks December 2 and 9).

Where

This is an in person only event in Gainesville, Florida at our studio: 1314 S Main St.

Who

This is for students aged 12-15. Interest and curiosity for comics strongly recommended. Class size is limited to 12 students and is subject to cancellation without a minimum enrolment of 6 students.

About the Instructor

Carly Shooster is a Jewish-American cartoonist based in Gainesville, Florida. She graduated from the California College of Arts with a MFA in 2022 and has since been working on her first Graphic Novel, ‘Mamita’. When she’s not supporting community arts through her work at the Gainesville Fine Arts Association (GFAA) and the Sequential Artists Workshop (SAW), she’s walking her dog and tending her garden.

This course is priced based on need. Please pay what you can. If you can afford to pay a little more, you’ll help us make this awesome class accessible to more students in our community. If you can’t pay full pricing, we don’t want you to be unable to access our classes and we have alternative pricing options.
