Why have we launched this Board?

Ocala is the horse capital of the world. To be honest, it is in fact one of six cities that the World Chamber of Commerce has crowned with this title. However, our city is the only one which also features the World Equestrian Center, a network of 21 arenas designed to host equestrian competitions. This facility opened its doors here in 2021. In so doing, it put Ocala on the world map.

Until then, Ocala was a small community, but among the fastest growing communities in the United States. Its chamber of commerce, The C.E.P., was voted the best chamber in our country in 2020. Through its efforts, large employers have been drawn to town and brought with them high paying jobs. Of course, the equestrian industry has been the focal point of our economy for some time. Amazingly, before the opening of the W.E.C., it was already generating gross revenues in excess of three billion dollar for Ocala. But the opening of the World Equestrian Center is a game changer. Ocala has become the definition of a land of opportunity as a result.

Our community, already a great place to call home, is even more so now. On this board we create a tapestry of life in our town. Share your stories and lets have fun celebrating our good fortune together!
